Delhi Belly 2011

Dir: Abhinay Deo

With very high expectations i enter into the theatre and as the reel starts rolling, i am not disappointed. Wel as the credits roll and the mood board of the film is laid, you know what to expect of this flick.
Superb cinematography, Bold Bollywood, and some average acting (bad if you say it for Imran Khan). Coming to the cinematography...hats off to the man for brilliantly portraying all esential colors available on a young indian's canvas. You see all the shots taken which every amateur photographer would cherish as his masterpiece.
The story is hell predictable and you know what follows what beforehand. What makes it a one time watch are the gen Z dialogues which at time too feel to be over served. But, what can you expect out of a commercial fillam ?
The screenplay is an average draft but taut at places that dont matter.
There is only one thing for which aamir could be credited, bringing people to the theater and making them watch the BOLD scenes leaving their taboos aside.

Also the soundtrack is much better than its story and have been used wisely, mostly as background tracks.
Delhi belly is a one time watch for sure, to enjoy what no bollywood fillam has given you. But it has to be seen as only a FILLAM and not cinema (unlike peepli live and dhobhi ghaat).
I would give this sitcom flick a generous 6.5/10.
